This is the SalsaKing label for our products.
My husband started doing this a few years ago. He started out with salsa, he gave away so much to friends we never had any left for ourselves! And the cost of the jars left us wondering why we kept "giving" it away.
A couple of years later we decided to sell the products. It first started with friends and family. Then it was their friends, and their friends.
Now we carry products with us everywhere we go. A couple of local taverns display and sell our products.
We have some customers that order our barbecue sauce by the gallon! One customer has a standing order of one gallon of barbecue sauce every three weeks.
We are currently working on our hot sauces for this year's peppers. Hot sauce takes time to make, not to mention the products (peppers) and all the chopping!
This year's growing season was not good. We have a garden at our home and also have 3 raised beds at our seasonal campground - so no, we never get away from it! With the colder weather this year we felt we were not going to have enough peppers (after making the salsa) to make our hot sauce. So whenever we ran into someone who gardens, we would ask if they had any hot peppers available that they did not need. Still thinking we would not have enough peppers and wondering what to do about our lack of hot sauce this year, a friend showed up with a bag full of hot peppers. So they went into production and we were pleased with the amount of hot sauce we would be able to make. A few days later we came home to find another whole grocery sack full of hot peppers!
There's a lot of work that goes into this, but it all pays off when a new customer asks to try it and ends up buying one or more of each type!
